Dennis Ferrer
New York DJ and producer Dennis Ferrer founded the Objektivity label and wrote one of house music’s most recognisable records. “Hey Hey” first came out on Objektivity in 2010 before Defected picked it up, and the chant, inspired by his daughter, has been filling dancefloors ever since. His remix of Dido’s “Don’t Believe in Love” earned a Grammy nomination.
Ferrer first broke through in 2003 with “Sandcastles”, a collaboration with Jerome Sydenham on the Ibadan label, and his album The World As I See It, released on King Street Sounds, confirmed him as one of the deepest voices in New York house.
Through Objektivity he has championed soulful, percussive house built on drums that hit hard and melodies that stay with you. He played Social in 2022 and returned in 2024.
