Our Story

Social Club first opened on Palma’s Paseo Marítimo in late 2017. Nine years, one demolition and a new home later, it returns on Thursday 12 November 2026.

2017

First doors
Founded by Martyn Smith, Social Club first opened its doors in late 2017 on the Paseo Marítimo, beside the walkway that once linked the old Hotel Mediterráneo to its seafront pool. The idea was simple: an intimate, stylish club where atmosphere matters more than attitude.
2018

The Gathering
On Saturday 9 June 2018, Social celebrated its summer grand opening, The Gathering, with Alex Caro and Sote de Lino behind the decks. They have been our residents ever since.
2017–2024

Life on the waterfront
Social became one of Palma’s best-known nightspots: a place for locals, visitors and the yachting crowd to meet, dress up and stay late, a few steps from the marina. Along the way, the booth welcomed names like Pete Tong, Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry and Purple Disco Machine.
2024

Making way for a new Paseo
As the Paseo Marítimo was redesigned as a greener, more open waterfront, our building stood in its path. The site was expropriated three years before our concession was due to end, and Social had to hand back its keys at the end of April 2024.
April 2024

The Last Dance
On Saturday 20 April 2024 we said goodbye with The Last Dance. Alec Monopoly, who had already left his mark by spray-painting his famous artwork on the club’s exterior, played the closing party alongside Alex Caro & Sote de Lino and Jumita. That summer, the building and its walkway were demolished.

January 2025

Best Club 2024
At the first MEM (Mallorca Electronic Music) Awards, held at Palma’s Teatre Xesc Forteza, Social Club was named Best Club of 2024, months after closing its doors.

February 2025

A new home
In February 2025 we confirmed the next chapter, a short walk along the Paseo: the former Victoria nightclub, beneath the Hotel Victoria, a room that had been quiet since 2015.
2026

Rebuilt from the ground up
The new Social is a boutique club with a Main Room, Room 2, a cocktail bar, the VIP Lounge and the Social Suite for up to 15 guests, designed as much for private and corporate events as for club nights.

The relaunch is Social’s second edition, and the two Is are a quiet nod to it: Social, part II. Same spirit, new home.
