Roger Sanchez

A New York house institution, Roger Sanchez broke worldwide with “Another Chance”, which went straight to number one in the UK in 2001. Two years later his remix of No Doubt’s “Hella Good” won the Grammy for Best Remixed Recording, and his long-running Release Yourself radio show and compilations have carried his blend of deep, Latin and tribal house to listeners around the world.

Born in Queens in 1967 to Dominican parents, Roger grew up between hip-hop, disco and New York’s legendary club scene. He studied at the city’s High School of Art and Design, and in 1990 Strictly Rhythm released his debut single, “Luv Dancin’”, under the alias Underground Solution. Records as Roger S followed, along with his first album, Secret Weapons Volume 1, in 1994.

First Contact, his debut artist album of his own productions, arrived in 2001 and carried “Another Chance”, built around a sample of Toto’s “I Won’t Hold You Back”. More than three decades into his career he remains one of the most in-demand names in house, and he brought that experience to Social in 2022 and again in 2023.
